Daily every man is constantly making a choice:
• What will I believe?
• Who will influence me?
• How will I spend my time?
• What will I allow into my home?
• What kind of husband and father will I be?
• Will I pursue comfort or conviction?
Every choice we make is taking us somewhere.
On today's podcast we are going to let Jeremiah 6:16 be our guide as we walk though what it looks like to start again at mile zero.
Jeremiah's message challenges us as men to look beyond the newest, easiest, or most popular direction.

Make it your ambition. We don't put those two words next to each other. Ambition means you're building something loud, a name, a platform, a business, a reputation. Quiet is what you get accused of when you're not doing enough of that.
As we have this conversation I want us to consider: "What does a quiet life actually build, over twenty or thirty years, that the loud life never quite manages to?"

There is nothing wrong with influence.
There is nothing wrong with having a large platform.
There is nothing wrong with being known.
There is nothing wrong with being gifted.
The problem comes when the platform becomes more important than the message.
When the messenger becomes more important than the Gospel.
When people come to church because they want to see someone rather than because they want to encounter God.
When we start building ministries around personalities instead of building people around Christ.

On today's PoM podcast I am going to share some of the things I have learned when it comes to creating communities with men and the challenges to get them to be consistent.
Consistency is not flashy. It doesn’t post well on social media. But it is the difference between a man who talks about faithfulness and a man who becomes faithful.
Paul told Timothy to “practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress” (1 Timothy 4:15). Progress is visible only when the practice is consistent. A single day of prayer is good. A decade of daily prayer forms a man who can weather storms without losing his footing.
A consistent man becomes trustworthy. His word carries weight. His family knows what to expect from him. God uses consistent men because they can be counted on when the assignment is long and the applause is gone
