    Understanding Toxic People

    01/09/2026 | 51 mins.
    Understanding Toxic People

Many people whose behavior we don’t understand want us to nurture them with our attention. Once our eyes open to this, everything makes sense, and we have wisdom for how to deal with such people.

In this therapy session-style episode, Erin serves as an illustration for how we enable toxic people by unwittingly nurturing them. We see how perfectionism is often rooted in children turning their anger at attachment figures onto themselves. In this episode, Bronwyn leads Erin in a differentiation exercise to wake up to her mom – so she can awaken to the truth of her ex-husband, do right by herself.

Bronwyn talks with Dr. Ali Najafian Jazi, psychiatrist and psychotherapist about the power of experiencing and expressing all emotions. We discuss how emotions don't dissipate when ignored, but stagnate within our body, making us sick, and how healing and closure comes through listening to our body, and responding with compassion.

Dr. Jazi can be contacted at: www.drjazi.com, and info@drjazi.com

    03/07/2026 | 50 mins.
Psychiatrist Dr. Caroline Giroux joins Bronwyn in a rejection of the conventional,  masculine-driven understanding of therapy, based solely on objective metrics, for an embodied and integrated approach. We discuss how to listen to the body, and what it might be communicating during menopause. Caroline allows Bronwyn to lead her in two powerful integration exercises, modeling for listeners.
