_______________
Perimenopause can start years before most women see it coming, often in their late 30s or early 40s, and most of us were never taught what to look for, let alone how to prepare. The choices you make in your 20s and 30s shape how you’ll feel in your 40s, 50s, and beyond. And the woman leading the global conversation on menopause has had to navigate it herself.
This week we’re turning back the clock for a conversation about aging well, aging right, and what it actually takes to feel like yourself on the back side of life.
_______________
Katie Thompson sits down with Dr. Mary Claire Haver, MD, FACOG, CMP, the world’s leading menopause doctor, for a conversation unlike any she’s had before. Dr. Haver opens up about her own experience with menopause while also helping millions of women worldwide through theirs, and the changes she made to live the second half of her life as fully as possible.
We’ll dig into what was different about going through menopause as the expert, the shifts she made in her own life, and the tools you can start using now. If you’re 25 to 35, this one’s for you too: the habits you build today set you up for a smoother perimenopause tomorrow.
This episode is all about getting ahead of the clock instead of chasing it.

In SMV We Trust. - Welcome to the House Tour….I’ll meet you on the Pelvic Floor.
_____
1 in 4 women and 1 in 12 men will experience some form of pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime.
It's not just a postpartum problem or an "aging" problem. Rates of pelvic floor dysfunction among girls as young as 10 to 14 are climbing, and athletes in high-intensity sports — runners, gymnasts, CrossFitters, dancers — are showing up with symptoms most of them didn't know had a name.
____
Join me, Katie Thompson, as I sit down with Dr. Uchenna "UC" Ossai, DPT, WCS — pelvic floor physical therapist and founder of YouSeeLogic — for an unfiltered walkthrough of what your pelvic floor actually does, why it fails more often than anyone talks about, and who's most at risk and why.
We dig into what pelvic floor dysfunction actually looks and feels like, why so many symptoms get dismissed or laughed off, how sport, pregnancy, and plain old bad habits (holding your pee) all factor in, and what real prevention and treatment look like.
This episode is about knowing your own house: foundation to roof and learning how to take care of the floor everything else stands on.
____
Dr. Uchenna "UC" Ossai is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and board-certified Women's Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation. She's the founder of YouSeeLogic, where she works to make sex ed and pelvic health education for grown folks honest, practical, and stigma-free — covering everything from postpartum recovery and pelvic pain to athletic performance and sexual health.

In SMV We Trust. - Permission to talk some Sh*T…______That three-letter diagnosis almost never tells you what's actually wrong. If you've lived the bloating, the bathroom sprints, and the "just manage your stress" send-off, this episode finally digs into what's really going on.______Katie Thompson sits down with Izabella Wentz @ThyroidPharmacist for an unfiltered conversation about what "IBS" really means, the root causes hiding beneath it, and the surprising role your nervous system plays in every single trip to the bathroom. We grew up being told IBS was just a sensitive stomach — something you're born with, something you manage, something you learn to live with. But as much as 98% of the time, that label is a placeholder for a real, findable, treatable cause: bacterial overgrowth, enzyme deficiencies, hidden infections, food sensitivities, toxic exposures. And with fewer than 1 in 4 patients improving on the conventional approach — and two-thirds of IBS patients being women — "just live with it" was never the only option on the table.Katie and Dr. Wentz unpack what's actually normal, how to find the root cause your labs keep missing, what can happen when IBS goes ignored and untreated for years, and the specific tools — targeted supplements, tests, gut-healing protocols — that can actually help you heal.______Dr. Izabella Wentz, PharmD, FASCP is a clinical pharmacist, functional medicine expert, and #1 New York Times bestselling author known to millions as The Thyroid Pharmacist. After being diagnosed with Hashimoto's herself, she built a career out of chasing root causes instead of just managing symptoms — consulting on thousands of complex cases along the way. She's the author of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Hashimoto's Protocol, and Hashimoto's Food Pharmacology, work that's reached hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Her latest book, IBS: Finding and Treating the Root Cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, brings that same detective's mindset to the gut.Follow her across all platforms at @izabellawentz.______Like what you hear? From dating apps and hookup culture to the myths we still believe about symptoms, testing, and protection.Katie and Dr. Fran unpack the stigma surrounding testing, the dangerous misinformation spreading online, and the real conversations we should be having about sexual health, relationships, and protection — without shame, fear, or outdated sex-ed messaging. This episode is about taking control of your sexual health, knowing the facts, and learning how to protect yourself and your partners in today’s dating world.
