Katie, Charlie & Moose - Finding The Joy Again When Katie and Charlie first brought Moose home, they did all the research. Puppy classes, early training, spreadsheets… they were determined to give him the best start possible. But in the process of doing all the “right” things they layered on the stress and stopped enjoying their dog. As time went on, little challenges crept in, he started to react to other dogs, they couldn’t get a harness on, they had to leave him alone when he had a chew. Like so many owners, they got really good at rationalising and focusing on the next tick box instead of the bigger picture.In this episode, Katie takes us on a journey of raising Moose and how they got back on track after it all got a bit wonky. Overwhelm and overthinking had taken over, but by finding Honest Hounds and stepping back to see Moose as a whole dog, not a checklist of behaviours, they changed everything.
