Ep.105: Atlanta Braves Coach Paul Davis on Psychological Capital (PsyCap) and Coping Skills for Elite Performance
It has been a long time coming for who I deem "The Smartest Man in Baseball", to come onto this podcast. Paul Davis is the Atlanta Brave's Director of Pitching, former Major League Pitching coach for the Seattle Mariner's, and my former colleague when we worked for the St. Louis Cardinals together where Paul served alongside me with the rehab group as the "Rehab Pitching Coach" while I served as the St. Louis Cardinals Medical & Rehab Coordinator from 2015 through the end of the 2017 season. Most of all Paul is a dear friend and mentor of mine. Building upon the last episode where I first mention Psychological Capital (PsyCap), Paul and I discuss how he has integrated psychology into his work as a pitching coach to get the most performance out of those he serves and how this can also help all of us in our own life's version of High Stakes performance needs.Paul Davis was interviewed for part of the book The Arm which we discuss in this episode.Click here to follow me on IG @davemmeyer
