- Feeling overstimulated doesn’t mean you’re a bad mom. It may simply mean your brain and body have been processing too much for too long. In this episode, we’re talking about why motherhood can feel so loud, how to recognize your personal warning signs before you reach your breaking point, and practical ways to reduce the amount of input coming at you.
You’ll learn how to identify your hardest part of the day, communicate what you need, create small pockets of calm, and repair with your children when you do lose your patience. You don’t need a perfect self-care routine. Sometimes, you just need less noise, fewer demands, and permission to pause before your needs become an emergency.

21/07/2026 | 17 mins. When your baby won’t sleep, the exhaustion can affect so much more than your energy. It can make you question yourself, your motherhood, and even your faith. In this episode, we’re talking about why baby sleep can feel like a spiritual battle, how exhaustion can distort what feels true, and why needing rest does not mean you lack faith.
You’ll also learn how to replace shame-filled thoughts with biblical truth, set loving sleep boundaries without guilt, and take the next right step when you’re overwhelmed in the middle of the night. You are not failing, God has not forgotten you, and you do not have to keep carrying this alone.

17/07/2026 | 24 mins.Do you love your children but still miss the person you were before motherhood?
In this episode, we're talking about why so many moms feel disconnected from themselves after having a baby, and how to begin getting your joy back without adding more pressure to your life.
I’m sharing what I have learned through motherhood, exhaustion, identity changes, and finding myself again after becoming a mom and then having cancer. You’ll leave with practical ways to identify what's missing, stop postponing joy, ask for support, and reconnect with the woman God created you to be, one small step at a time.
Instagram (come along for the ride while we find our joy again together!): instagram.com/mama.matters.too- You’ve heard the advice: put your baby down “drowsy but awake.” But what happens when your baby’s eyes pop open the second they touch the crib...or they cry every time you try?
In this episode, we’re breaking down why “drowsy but awake” often does not work, what may actually be getting in the way, and what to focus on instead. You’ll learn how timing, sleep associations, bedtime routines, and consistency all play a role in helping your baby fall asleep with less support.
We’ll also talk through practical alternatives, including gradual fading, in-crib support, and how to respond when your baby protests a new routine. Because the goal is not finding the perfect sleepy moment, it’s helping your baby learn that the crib is a safe, familiar place to fall asleep.

Join the Facebook group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/mamamatterstoo/ - Do you feel like having a morning routine is impossible because your kids wake up early...or the second you try to get out of bed?
In this episode, I’m sharing how to create a realistic morning routine that actually works in motherhood. You’ll learn how to choose a few simple morning anchors, create full, interrupted, and survival versions of your routine, prepare the night before, and find small pockets of time even when your children are already awake.
This is not about waking up at 4:30 a.m. or following a long, perfect checklist. It is about building a flexible rhythm that helps you feel grounded, cared for, and more prepared for the day ahead.
And if your child’s early wake-ups are becoming a consistent sleep problem, I’ll also share when it may be time to look more closely at their schedule, naps, bedtime, and overnight sleep.

About Sleep Training for Babies / Postpartum, Overstimulated, Naps, Baby Sleep, Newborn, Infants
Are you sick of feeling like you can’t show up for yourself or your kids as the mom you want to be, due to exhaustion? Do you crave time alone to fill your own cup, but can’t get it due to your children not sleeping? Are you tired of feeling dysregulated, exhausted, and overstimulated? Are you ready to be a more present and patient mother? I am so thankful you’re here, mama. This podcast will help you find more rest, joy, and peace in motherhood, by getting your baby or young kiddo to start sleeping through the night! Hey, I’m Alexa. A mom, wife, and Jesus lover who spent the first 6 months of my newborns life feeling beyond exhausted, anxious, and like a zombie just going through the motions. I wasn’t able to be a fully present mom or enjoy motherhood. Being riddled with anxiety and sleeping 3-5 hours a night just wasn’t working anymore…for me, my marriage, or my son!I was afraid to start sleep training, thinking maybe it wouldn’t work, or it would negatively affect my son’s development, or hurt our attachment. However…it did just the opposite. Sleep training changed our lives; my son was happier and well rested, my mental health slowly got better, I was able to BOND and be present with my son, and my home finally had some peace and predictability. However, I felt like my sleep training experience was missing something. It wasn’t customized specifically for my family, I had a lot of questions that didn’t get answered, and I could have used some non-judgmental support and encouragement while walking through the process! So, I created it for you. I went to work and got certified as a Sleep Training Consultant and a Postpartum Doula, so that I could create a space for moms to get complete support as they walk through sleep training their babies in a way that feels good for them.Inside this podcast, you will find sleep training solutions and tips for children aged newborn-6 years old, encouragement and community (you are not alone!!), tips on how to bring routines and predictability to your home, and how to feel a sense of joy and peace in motherhood again. So go reheat your coffee- I’m sure for the 10th time today ;) - and listen up, mama!
